The United States and United Arab Emirates will partner to build a massive data center complex in Abu Dhabi to advance artificial intelligence capabilities with 5-gigawatts of capacity — enough to power a major city.

The announcement came during a Trump visit to Abu Dhabi to meet its president, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed al-Nahyan, and other UAE officials. It was the American president’s third stop of a Gulf tour this week that he says has raised trillions of dollars in investment for the US.

After a morning meeting with top U.S. and Qatari officials and American defense and aerospace business leaders, Trump heads to Al-Udeid Air Base, a U.S. installation at the center of American involvement in the Middle East. There, he will address troops and is expected to view a demonstration of American air capability.

Trump and Sheikh Mohammed praised each other at a meeting prior to the dinner, with Trump receiving a medal for Trump’s “exceptional efforts” to strengthen the relationship between the two countries.
