BRANFORD, Conn. (WFSB) - An attempted ATM theft was interrupted by a Branford police officer on December 22. Branford police say a group of unknown suspects attempted to steal an ATM from Evan’s Mobil on North Main Street Sunday night.

HARTFORD, CT. (WWLP) – Police are stepping up patrols in the Hartford area after a string of ATM thefts. Police in East Hartford, Windsor Locks, and Manchester are investigating. They say thieves not only broke into the gas stations but in some cases tore the doors right off the hinges to split open the ATMs.

Police in Branford say one of their officers interrupted a theft in progress at a convinience store on Sunday. It was at the Evan’s Mobil on North Main Street where Brandford Police say a group of people attempted to steal an ATM – the full machine – from inside the store.
