Portions of East Texas remain under a Winter Storm Warning until Friday at noon, while other areas are under a Winter Weather Advisory until that time. Snow, sleet, freezing rain, and cold, hard rain are falling upon East Texas today and tonight. Accumulation will occur especially across the northern East Texas counties.

Tyler is home to three hospitals, CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Hospital, UT Health East Texas, UT Health Science Center along with several specialty hospitals, Baylor Scott and White Texas Spine And Joint and Hospital. With the possibility of frozen precipitation in east Texas, area schools and government offices may announce closures as a measure of caution and to limit the amount of traffic on potentially icy roadways.

All Texarkana Arkansas School District schools and offices will be closed on Thursday 9. Friday closures to be determined. All extracurricular activities scheduled for Thursday are canceled. Officials with Hope Public Schools say campuses will be closed on Thursday and Friday.
