Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard urges criminal justice reforms following a fatal shooting by parolee Malik Webb on Christmas Eve, questioning his parole decision.

Bouchard said he plans to go to Lansing to speak to lawmakers to discuss when and how violent offenders are given parole and how that could impact public safety.

Sheriff Michael Bouchard said the suspect in a Christmas Eve shooting spree, who has been charged seven times in nine years with with weapons offenses, shouldn't have been released.

The suspect in the deadly Christmas Eve shooting in Oxford was out on parole after his 7th weapons offense, the sheriff said. Several people who were attempting to help him were shot.
