Wales is braced for an icy blast again on Thursday with temperatures set to plummet as low as -6C with another yellow weather warning for snow and ice in place for most of the country. The yellow warning lasts from 3am on Thursday until midday with temperatures expected to be lowest in Powys early on Thursday morning.

A fresh weather warning for snow has been issued for parts of Essex this afternoon (January 8). There have been weather warnings across the UK from the Met Office for the past few days, with the latest predicting that snow and sleet will hit parts of Essex overnight.

MORE snow and ice is on the way, according to forecasters who have issued another weather warning. The Met Office has put in place a yellow warning across the north west of England and north Wales for snow and icy patches.

After several days of freezing cold temperatures and wintery showers, the weather is set to become milder this weekend with temperatures set to creep back up. The Met Office has issued dozens of weather warnings for snow and ice over the last week, with many areas waking up to a blanket of snow on Sunday morning.

National Rail is also warning travellers to check their journeys in light of the Met Office yellow warnings for snow and ice still in place.
