Mufasa: The Lion King’s weekend actuals came in higher, and with that, the movie regained its crown at the domestic box office. Despite a slower start, the movie has a powerful hold at the box office and is leading the race against Sonic the Hedgehog 3 at the worldwide box office. Scroll below for the deets.

Per Deadline, Mufasa: The Lion King is projected to earn $11.5 million through Sunday and $15.5 million through the four-day MLK holiday weekend. If the estimate holds it will boost Mufasa’s running domestic tally to $209.7 million since its Dec. 20, 2024, opening.

Despite having completed a full month in theaters worldwide, Disney's Mufasa: The Lion King appears to have some life left. The big-budget film topped the domestic box office charts for the second time in its run this weekend,

The Disney feature is expected to earn between $250 and $260 million in its domestic run. It is also doing well internationally, reaching a $384.79 million overseas cume. Adding that to the domestic cume, Mufasa: The Lion King has hit a $594.52 million worldwide cume. It is expected to earn $600 million this weekend.
