Sheriff's officials have released the names of two backcountry skiers who were killed by an avalanche in Oregon's Cascade Mountains.

Authorities identified the two backcountry skiers who were killed Monday in an avalanche in Oregon’s central Cascade Mountains as Terance “Terry” Skjersaa, 57, and his wife, Susan “Renee” Skjersaa, 52. The couple were members of the family that founded Bend’s oldest ski shop.
