Sergio Perez will not drive in F1 the following season, after his seat at Red Bull Racing went to Liam Lawson. For the first time since the announcement, the Mexican driver posted on social media.

Red Bull Racing and Sergio Perez have reached an agreement to part ways effective immediately, ending their four-year partnership.

Lawson was picked ahead of RB teammate Yuki Tsunoda for the promotion to Red Bull, while F2 runner-up Isack Hadjar takes Lawson’s spot as Tsunoda’s teammate for 2025. The 2025 F1 season starts on 16 March in Australia.

Perez had not won a race since April 2023, even as his teammate Max Verstappen has dominated F1, and was rarely competitive this season.

Pérez’s downturn in performance had big implications for Red Bull, which couldn’t defend the constructors’ championship.
