Sen. Chris Van Hollen and other lawmakers say the sheet metal worker was 'illegally abducted' and that they will trek to Central America for answers.

US Sen. Chris Van Hollen traveled to El Salvador Wednesday seeking to meet with government officials there about Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a man who had been living in his state until he was mistakenly deported by the Trump administration last month to a mega-prison in the Central American nation.

The Trump administration now claims Kilmar Abrego Garcia wasn’t deported by mistake, as the Justice Department said, but was “the right person sent to the right place.”
