Church bells rang out for hours in celebration at Villanova University in suburban Philadelphia after one of their graduates was elected the first pope from the U.S. in the history of the Catholic Church.

But in the Villanova Class of 1977 yearbook is a picture of Robert F. Prevost, suited up, with bushy eyebrows, and some very 1970s sideburns. Before becoming head of the Catholic Church, Prevost strolled down the halls of Villanova University working on a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics.
