The revamped Start menu is not a surprise, as a leaker previously uncovered the work hidden in test builds. However, with Microsoft now officially revealing it, we know it’ll be live and being tested in Windows 11 preview builds soon.

The new Start menu is significantly larger and wider than the current one and it features a separate panel for the Phone Link app—which Microsoft refers to as a “phone companion in Start”—where users can have quick access to data and tools from a synced Android or iPhone.

Copilot Plus PC users will get an AI agent built right into Windows settings.
