Jackson has earned a number of freshman accolades after a tremendous year with the Sooners. He was named to the SEC All-Freshman team along with Eli Bowen, and on Tuesday, Jackson was named a freshman All-American by the Football Writer’s Association of America.

The Sooners' 4-star defensive tackle from Indianapolis by way of IMG Academy was an immediate starter and major contributor on a talented front.

He’s just the second OU defensive lineman to earn such an honor and the first since Tommie Harris in 2001, the first year the FWAA started making All-American selections.

Abigale Dayton, a transfer from Utah, was named a Second Team Preseason All-American by Softball America. Last year, she closed the year earning NFCA Third Team All-American honors as a sophomore for the Utes.

Jackson is only the second Sooners defensive lineman to earn FWAA Freshman All-America recognition since the organization began making selections in 2001, and the first since Tommie Harris in that initial year.
