The Boston College Eagles football program has picked up Alabama transfer tight end Ty Lockwood out of the transfer portal. “Alabama tight end Ty Lockwood has signed with Boston College, @On3sports has learned,” said On3Sports transfer portal reporter Pete Nakos via X. “Former four-star recruit reunites with QB Dylan Lonergan.”

Student-athletes on teams that had games after the Dec. 28 deadline were granted five more days after their final contest.

Ohio State ’s Ryan Day, Texas’ Steve Sarkisian, Notre Dame ’s Marcus Freeman and Penn State ’s James Franklin are the final four. None has won a national championship as a head coach, making this season the third out of the last four in which the title will go to a head coach who has never won one.

Penn State will face Notre Dame in the Orange Bowl, while Ohio State will face Texas in the Cotton Bowl. Winners will meet for the CFP championship.
