Two people were hurt in a multi-vehicle crash in Chippewa Township. Members of the Chippewa Township Volunteer Fire Department said the crash happened at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday at the intersection of Emmett Drive and Route 51. Three vehicles had crashed. Two people were taken to a hospital.

A major road has been closed after a multiple vehicle crash. Part of the A47 in Norfolk has been closed in both directions between the B1110 near Hockering and the B1147 near Dereham. Emergency services including Norfolk Police were at the scene and National Highways said it had deployed resources to assist with traffic management.

Emergency services were scrambled to a busy road in Trafford this afternoon after a crash. Two cars were involved in the smash on Wood Lane in Partington shortly before 3:30pm. Police, paramedics and firefighters all attended after it was reported to them a woman had suffered a broken bone.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said Saturday that Russia’s air defense systems were active when an Azerbaijan Airlines flight attempted to land in Grozny, Chechnya on Wednesday.

Putin apologized for the “tragic incident” in Russian airspace, but the Kremlin did not take responsibility for downing the Azerbaijan Airlines flight.

On 25 December, 38 people died when an Azerbaijan Airlines flight, which had been due to land in Russia, crash-landed in Kazakhstan. The circumstances around the crash remain unclear, but limited evidence so far suggests it may have been damaged by missiles fired by a Russian air-defence system as it tried to land in Chechnya.
