Can you believe it’s been 35 years since the Mazda Miata hit the market? Now in its fourth generation, more than one million of the beloved sports car have been sold over the three decades it’s been on sale.

It’s easy for enthusiasts to complain about limited editions of widely available sports cars, which are often expensive and ornate, but we just can’t bring ourselves to resent the 35th Anniversary Edition Miata,

An electrified Mazda MX-5 Miata is, as we say here at MotorTrend, InEVitable. Even though Mazda hasn’t kept its intentions to juice up its signature sports car with electrons a secret, the thought of one of the market’s last remaining driver-focused roadsters losing its gas-only purity is a bittersweet thought.

Mazda is taking orders for the 2025 MX-5 Miata 35th Anniversary now. Including the $1,185 destination fee, it is priced at $37,435.

The 35th Anniversary Edition is similar to the Grand Touring trim, which means features like heated seats, and Mazda says it has added a limited-slip differential, additional bracing, and some newly tuned Bilstein dampers. There's also a beige convertible roof and some shiny 17-inch alloy wheels.

The Mazda Miata MX-5 35th Anniversary is also an American deal. The roadster will celebrate its anniversary in our market as well

Mazda's send-off to the NC generation of Miata just so happens to coincide with the model's 25th birthday. The appropriately named MX-5 Miata 25th Anniversary Edition comes in Soul Red. Mazda builds just 100 of these special Miatas.
