Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick hit the Sunday morning talk shows to reassure Americans that President Donald Trump's tariff plan is going to work out in the long term as dock workers and truckers report job cuts due to falling imports.

An eighty percent "tariff on China seems right! Up to Scott B," the president posted, seemingly leaving the decision up to his Treasury secretary.

The U.S. and China have resumed crucial tariff talks that have put the global economy on edge, but appeared to have diverging views of where the negotiations presently stand.
