The PGA Tour has decided to relocate February's Genesis Invitational at Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades because of the deadly fires in the Los Angeles area.

Next month's Genesis Invitational will be relocated away from Riviera Country Club following the fires that have ravaged Los Angeles.

Pacific Palisades is home to Riviera Country Club, where the tour’s Genesis Invitational (formerly known as the Los Angeles Open) is play, a tournament which Tiger Woods now hosts. The course and club are reportedly fine, although the neighborhood surrounding the property has been affected. The event is scheduled for Feb. 13-16.

Still to be determined is where the $20 million signature event, with Tiger Woods as the tournament host, will relocate for Feb. 13-16.

The PGA Tour is expected to move the Genesis Invitational from Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles to Torrey Pines near San Diego, Golfweek and Sports Illustrated reported Monday.

Wildfires in the Los Angeles area are forcing a relocation of this year’s Genesis to Torrey Pines, which is hosting a Tour event this week.

The club, founded in 1926, is located within the fire evacuation zone, but has not suffered any damage. The event on the top American circuit has, among other things, Tiger Woods as an ambassador.
