A declassified memo states Venzuela's government is not orchestrating the gang's operations in the U.S., undercutting Trump's rationale for deporting migrants to El Salvador.

The U.S. intelligence community says it does not believe Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro directs Tren de Aragua (TDA), a criminal gang that operates in the U.S. in a newly declassified, redacted memo.

A newly released report from the U.S. National Intelligence Council concludes that while the Nicolás Maduro regime tolerates the feared Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua, it is unlikely the Venezuelan strongman exercises direct control over the organization.
