BOSTON — Manager Alex Cora had right-handed hitter Rob Refsnyder available on his bench as a pinch hitter in the sixth inning. But Cora stuck with Wilyer Abreu against Rangers left-handed reliever Hoby Milner who was holding left-handed hitters to a .179 batting average (5-for-28) and no extra-base hits.

A day after there seemed no plans to broach the subject with Devers, the Red Sox manager said, "Obviously, things might change."

Alex Cora was seemingly adamant that Rafael Devers would not be a first baseman on Tuesday. By Wednesday, he'd slightly changed his tune. Cora was asked Tuesday if he had had any conversations with Devers about moving to first base in the wake of Triston Casas' injury.
