After he delivered a left strike that staggered Bo Nickal backwards, UFC middleweight Reinier de Ridder (20-2) surged forward with a left knee to his opponent’s abdomen. Nickal (7-1) collapsed near the cage before the referee called the fight in round two in favor of the Netherlands-born fighter.

Bo Nickal’s undefeated run in the UFC came to a crushing end courtesy of a Reiner de Ridder knee to the liver in the second round of Saturday night’s UFC Des Moines event.

Cory Sandhagen ended the night with a lopsided performance, and then a finish of Deiveson Figueiredo in the main event of UFC Des Moines. Despite the TKO victory coming via injury, Sandhagen's showing was outstanding,
