A New York prison where a man was beaten by correctional officers while handcuffed then died this month will get a new superintendent

Gov. Kathy Hochul said Monday she had named a new leader at the Utica-area state prison where earlier this month several corrections officers brutally assaulted an inmate who later died. Hochul announced the change in leadership along with a series of reforms and added oversight across New York’s prisons.
