With rain coming down and the dark clouds hovering over Nationals Park on Monday night, the series opener between the Guardians and the Nats was postponed after being in a pregame rain delay for over an hour.

Carlos Santana broke a scoreless tie with a three-run homer in the sixth inning and started a late onslaught by the Cleveland Guardians, who beat the Washington Nationals 9-1 on Tuesday night to split a doubleheader.

Ben Lively pitched into the sixth inning as the Guardians earned a split of their doubleheader against Washington.
