The White House has said its agreements with the U.K. and China are starting points, but so far the Trump administration has given up more than it has gained.

The Trump administration agreed after talks in Switzerland to pare back its 145 percent in tariffs charged on imports from China to 30 percent.

The U.S. pays about three times more than other nations for drugs, and Trump's wide-reaching executive order directs pharmaceutical companies to charge similar prices in the U.S. and Europe. The order says its health department will establish a mechanism for patients to buy more drugs directly from manufacturers.
