U.S. Department of Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins says the federal government will spend up to $1billion to combat bird flu, and hopefully lower the rising price of eggs.

In a new op-ed published in the Wall Street Journal, US Department of Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins outlined a new strategy she says will mitigate the spread of bird flu and lower the price of eggs — a signature issue of the 2024 election.

The U.S. will invest up to $1 billion to combat the spread of bird flu, as well as increase imports of eggs, agriculture secretary Brooke Rollins said on Wednesday.
